Viotek GN32DA QHD Curved Gaming Monitor Review

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Viotek has just released a new line of gaming monitors, promising the latest tech within their panels, backed by a Zero-Tolerance Dead Pixel Policy.  Today we are looking at the GN32DA QHD Curved Gaming Monitor and will see if this new model delivers on their slogan – “Don’t just play the game. Dominate it.”

Outstanding Performance for the Price

The Viotek GN32DA packs some serious specs for PC gamers looking to upgrade to a 1440p HDR monitor, while staying under the $400 threshold.  At first glance, the immediate takeaway is the sleek curved architecture and excellent design of this model.  It maxes out at a resolution of 2560x1440p, with a fast 144Hz refresh rate and solid 4ms response time.  This is a great choice for competitive gamers who enjoy first person shooters, as it also comes equipped with GamePlus Crosshair overlays for increased accuracy.

Viotek has included a nice variety of video inputs.  These include a HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI connection.  It comes with Pre-configured video modes that have been professionally calibrated so you can seamlessly go from playing a game, to watching a movie, to browsing the web.  A 3.5mm audio jack is in place for your favorite sound bar or audio system.  Height and tilt adjustments make it a breeze to dial in the perfect angle at your gaming desk.

AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync are present here as well.  Both of these technologies minimize screen tearing by applying dynamic refresh rates.  We tested the GN32DA with the latest Syber Cube from CyberPowerPC, powered by an Intel Core Processor i9-9900K and the EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER XC ULTRA.  To see just how well this monitor performs, we fired up multiple games including: Gears 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Resident Evil 2.

Everything looked fantastic, displaying vibrant colors with excellent picture quality and profound black levels thanks to the 3000:1 contrast ratio and 1M:1 DCR.  The 4m response time and 144Hz refresh rate worked perfectly with the frantically paced online action in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.  RE2’s dimly lit police station crawling with the undead and interactions with Mr. X proved to be more terrifying than ever at this level of detail.  Maxing out the visuals in Gears 5 was a visual Tour de force, just stunning.

Conclusion

The Viotek GN32DA Curved Gaming Monitor is a force to be reckoned with, delivering some truly impressive performance and the latest features such as AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync at a lower price than many of its competitors.  This latest series has proven they are here to compete in a big way.
