When Fast simply isn’t Good Enough

ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD Review - Pixelated Gamer

PC gamers who either compete at a high level online or especially within Esports need the absolute lowest latency possible from their gaming monitor.  ViewSonic provides an outstanding solution with the 27″ VX2758-2KP-MHD.  This model offers what they coin as “Ultra Fast Response Time”, which results in a blazing fast 1ms response time for your games.  For those that play first person shooters and fighters, this is just as critical as the internal components of your gaming rig itself.  High latency, whether it be through your display or network connection, will absolutely cripple your gaming performance and leave you at the back of the pack.

Specs and Tech

The VX2758-2KP-MHD features a LED-backlit LCD, 16:9 Aspect Ratio, 1000:1 / 80000000:1  Dynamic Contrast Ratio and a 2560 x 1440 resolution at 144 Hz.  It also features an IPS panel that provides vibrant colors and excellent image quality from every angle.  The screen has a nice anti-glare coating applied to it as well.  There are two HDMI connections, audio in and out jacks, plus one Display Port.  Gamers with AMD cards can take advantage of FreeSync technology available on this monitor.  This latest tech syncs up the frame rate between your monitor and GPU, which helps greatly in eliminating screen tearing and improving overall gameplay performance.  In other words, it provides a much more fluid experience by ensuring your display and video card play nice together.   The monitor comes equipped with several pre-baked video modes that include: Game, Movie, Web, Text and Mono.  Each one is finely tuned for its purpose, as we literally found nothing that appeared out of place or in need manual correction of any kind.

Our test rig consists of the following: CyberPowerPC Syber Cube, i9 9900K, 32GB RAM, 1TB Intel SSD with NVMe, 3 TB SATA HD and the EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER XC ULTRA.  We are in the middle of completing our review for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, so this was an absolutely perfect candidate to test the capabilities of the VX2758-2KP-MHD.  We played both the campaign and multiplayer modes at Ultra Settings, with a resolution of 1440p and refresh rate set at 144Hz.  ViewSonic’s latest performed beautifully here.  With ray tracing enabled at these settings and resolution, it’s arguably the best looking game of 2019 by a significant margin.  We experienced zero ghosting, flickering or any color banding issues of any kind during our gameplay tests.  The 1ms response time during the frantic matches in Team Deathmatch and Gunfight mode made every shot truly accurate.  We spent over 10 hours pushing this model and it provided an outstanding experience from start to finish.
