Candleman: The Complete Journey Review (PC)

Candleman: The Complete Journey is a Puzzle Platformer developed by Spotlightor Interactive and published by Zodiac Interactive. Gamers play as a single candlestick that is determined to venture out into the darkness to explore the world around it and ultimately reach a lighthouse that it has spotted far off in the distance.     The landscape is drenched in darkness, but luckily players have the ability to light the area around them. The catch is the candle can only be lit for 10 seconds per level. This brings some interesting gameplay elements into the game. Slain: Back from Hell Review (Nintendo Switch)

Slain: Back from Hell originally released in 2016 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.  The protagonist, known as Bathoryn, has to traverse through 6 realms and defeat each boss within to free the cursed lands.  It was funded through a Kickstarter campaign and got a lot of attention due to the gnarly pixelated art style and killer metal soundtrack recorded by Curt Victor Bryant.  It has loads of Gothic style throughout the game and features the old-school difficulty that was very prominent in these retro 2D action-platformers.     Published by Digerati and developed through Andrew Gilmour / Stage Clear Studios, Slain: Back from Hell brings the intense hack and slash experience to the Nintendo Switch.  It’s reminiscent of Brutal Legends in its metal inspiration, and similar…

Build your own SNES Classic!

Nintendo has finally announced what we all knew with fair certainty was coming…the SNES Classic. In May, I went ahead and made my own, since acquiring the last NES Classic was only feasible through pure luck or outright persistence. I refused to pay a penny over MSRP, so I was only able to acquire a unit thanks to text alerts from a stock alerter site that updated every minute across every popular online retailer.  I surely hope Nintendo doesn’t pull this stunt again to their fan base, as there would be no excuse for not knowing how high the demand will be for this in September. Making your own SNES Classic is actually a fairly simple exercise. In the video below, you’ll see I acquired…
